The Hoke product range was first introduced into the Norwegian market
in 1976. An early breakthrough came with the huge Statfjord Field
developed by Mobil Exploration Norway, comprising three large concrete
platforms.
Teamtrade
AS was established in the instrumentation business in 1984, with
people who had worked with Hoke on the Statfjord project. In 1986
they became Hokes Norwegian distributor.
The main focus in the following years has been
the offshore industry, which represents approximately 85% of the
business.
Now part of IOF Group, Teamtrade has through the
years been awarded Frame Agreements with both engineering contractors
and owner/operators. Hoke and Gyrolok products are now the standard
on 25 platforms, production vessels and also some onshore plants.
A Frame Agreement with the engineering house Kvaerner
Oil & Gas includes a broad range of Hoke products used on new
jobs and projects.
Teamtrade has recently moved into new premises in Stavanger,
Norway. The companys outstanding success is largely based
on its policy of working very closely with the engineering companies
prior to and during the design period.
This involves early access to applications, assisting
engineers with hook-ups,
answering questions and focussing on training, among other things.
Fields
and units standardized with Hoke and Gyrolok are today served through
long-term contracts with Statoil, Norsk Hydro and BP Amoco as operators.
These fields and two major projects recently secured represent approximately
35% market share for Hoke products in this market segment.
The
two new projects are the Statoil Kvitebjorn and the Norsk Hydro
Grane platforms. These are the largest projects currently under
development on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, and will run from
2001 - 2004.

Teamtrade
expects to deliver some 80,000 to 100,000 fittings and 3,000 to
4,000 valves and manifolds to these projects in this period. They
will be in 316ss, titanium, Hastelloy and Duplex materials.
Teamtrade
has also focused on other markets and has important customers such
as Borealis, Statoil`laboratories, Norsk Hydro plants, Kongsberg
Offshore (FMC Group), Dresser-Rand, Kvaerner, Aker and ABB to mention
a few. The subsea market and high pressure applications are also
very important market segments.
Teamtrade
is in the process of developing an e-business solution, which will
simplify the working day of its customers and suppliers as well
as itself. It covers product descriptions, ordering routines, price
agreements, finance management, reporting, etc, and is available
to the companys customers and partners over the internet,
steered by allocated access rights.
The Statoil Asgard Project, which was standardized
with Hoke products and was described in Issue 1 of CONNECTIONS,
recently went on stream. It represented $9 million in sales for
Teamtrade plus future maintenance work.
Teamtrade is excited about future applications
and sees extensive business potential for the new CIRCOR range.
